I woke up this morning to my normal 4:26 am alarm going off, but today was different. I just didn’t want to do it. I thought after my breakfast that I would be ready to get my day started. Nope. I read through an Oxygen Magazine while I sat at my kitchen table trying to talk myself into going to the gym. Still not excited, but at least I started going in the right direction.

I packed my lunch, my gym bag, and walked the dog before heading out on my hour-long commute over the river and through the woods (literally). By the time I put my gym bag in the locker room, I was starting to feel like myself. As I walked into the weight room, I was ready to go. I’m sure listening to the Success Magazine CD tell me, “Adults devise a plan and follow it, children do what feels good,” during my drive helped.

As much as I love to work out, I have days when I would much rather go back to bed, and some days I do, but not today. I was determined to make it happen this morning and the feeling of accomplishment after my workout set the tone for my whole day.
