The weather is getting hotter and it is time to ditch the winter skincare regimen. The heat will make us sweat, which will result in pesky breakouts and that’s why you need to take the skin routine to another level. So, in order to feel and look fresh this summer, here are some things to do for your skin.

Exfoliate

It’s time to get rid of the dry and dull winter skin. In order to do so, you will need to exfoliate at least twice a week. However, since constant heat and sweating can result in breakouts, you can exfoliate even more. What is more, you will have to be careful with the products. If your skin is sensitive and dry, you can use lavender, dead sea mud and Rosemary products, while combination and oily skin types won’t get as damaged as the dry type. Also, don’t forget your lips and apply moisturizer afterward.

Eat healthy

You are what you eat or so is your skin, so make sure to eat only healthy foods to nourish it. Stay away from processed and sugary foods, and stack up on some juicy fruits and vegetables. These will hydrate your skin and keep it nourished, while vitamins and antioxidants will protect it from external damage.

Hydrate

Cold days are over and heavy creams need to go. Your summer skincare should be based on light, oil-free products. However, if your skin tends to be dry during the summer, you can give it a boost with some more oily creams. Also, if your skin gets extra oily, then stay away from such products in order not to clog your pores. Nevertheless, coconut body oil is a perfect product which is great for all skin types.

Get rid of unwanted hair

Not only does your skin has to be hydrated, but it has to be smooth as well. So, it is time to get rid of unwanted hair, but without irritation. Whether you prefer shaving or wax strips, you will have to take good care of your skin afterward. After getting rid of the hair, give your skin some time to recover. Don’t just run to the beach; instead, wait at least a day because follicles are sensitive to the sun and heat, which can irritate your skin. If you don’t want to wait that long, you can easily protect your skin with an oil-free sunscreen, wait for it to dry and you are completely ready for your day at the beach.

Protect

Since the summer sun is harsh, you need to protect your skin properly. Sun protection is also essential if you exfoliate frequently because then your cells are more sensitive to UV rays. Find a sunscreen that suits your skin type and look for ones with a high SPF, like those you can find with Ultraceuticals, and use it every day. Also, you will need some clothes to protect your skin, so wear a hat, light clothes and sunglasses on a daily basis and you will be safe.

Treat your feet

Cold winters require strong and warm boots, but those can ruin and thicken the skin on your feet. In order to prepare your feet for sandals and lighter shoes, you should do something about your skin. Start your program with a good salon pedicure if you have the time. If not, you can do it alone. Remove the thicker skin on your feet with a foot file. Then, apply a rich emollient cream or other ointment and cover your feet with a plastic wrap or put on some cotton socks. Do this before going to sleep and you will get perfect skin overnight. You can repeat this for several days until you are perfectly satisfied with your smooth skin.

Don’t be lazy and jump-start your summer skincare routine. Your skin will need a bit of a boost after the cold winter and plenty of thick clothes. However, remember to be gentle with it, to keep it hydrated and well nourished. These tips will help you get ready for the summer and have a smooth skin that glows.
