Do you HAVE to give up all alcohol to lose weight?

How many of you are excited and dreading it all at the same time?

I created this list for my 12-Week Online Training clients and my Monthly Membership clients. Sharing the love…

Here are some strategies that have worked for me over the years and I am happy to say that I never dread holiday weekends anymore.

Step 1: Know that you are going to enjoy some cheats and treats. When you PLAN for them, you can enjoy them versus trying to “be good” (hate that phrase by the way). When they are planned, you don’t feel like you have failed when you inevitably enjoy them.

Step 2: Choose wisely… when you first get started in a health and wellness journey, you may see all yummy things as off-limits. As you work on your thought process, you will start to look at foods and beverages as something that will be nutritionally rich or nutritionally garbage. Choose whole foods versus junk. Example… big, juicy burger with sweet potato fries versus 1/2 bag of Doritos.

Step 3: Fill up on the good stuff… It’s not like you arrive to a holiday gathering and all of the sudden HATE veggies and fruit and lean proteins so you aren’t missing out on anything by filling up on these nutritious yummies before enjoying your favorite holiday treats. There is a lot less room for the junk at that point. More of the good stuff makes less room, time, and attention for the junk.

Step 4: KEEP MOVING… this is a SPRING holiday so the weather is awesome pretty much everywhere. Spend time outdoors walking, gardening, playing at the park, etc.

How are you feeling about this holiday weekend now?
